The Future is Now

Over the past several months, we have been hard at work preparing to scale our Quality Program. The objectives have been to improve fielding processes and automate analysis and reporting. These enhancements have tremendously advanced program efficiency – and afforded us the opportunity to now update scores on a much more frequent basis.

Introducing: Bi-weekly Supplier Scores

Today, we are formally announcing that publication on a quarterly basis was retired in 2018. Going forward, we are transitioning to a 120 day rolling data set that is automatically analyzed and published every two weeks. As a result, today’s release is the last ‘quarterly’ production .

There are many benefits with this transition in addition to the scaling opportunities it presents for us internally at Lucid. In that regard, this automation unlocks our ability to aggressively continue geographic scale, with our target to expand from the present 4 published countries to 15 by the end of this year or early 2020.

Buyers on our platform will now enjoy no periods of ‘staleness’ between quarterly publications with current data at all times. For our supply partners, the frequent releases help keep a closer pulse on any variability in scores and serves as a more robust feedback loop on quality.

 

Geographic Expansion

Geographically, we felt that we aggressively expanded in 2018 by moving from US-only measurement to the UK, Germany, and Australia (with France currently in beta fielding). However, the transition felt somewhat daunting – and now we know it’s because we were fielding and processing results as we did when we were exclusively publishing the US. That was not scalable at all!

In support of our vision for the program to be in all mature countries, as well as the recognition that the quarterly cadence of publication was a weakness of the program, we have fully committed to automation that will unlock reaching our objectives. And we’re moving forward with incredible momentum.

As announced last quarter, fielding in Australia has been underway and results are published today for the first time. We are presently in the beta test for fielding in France and will aggressively roll out new countries during the 2nd half of this year. Beta fielding is scheduled to begin in early Q2 for Brazil, Canada, China, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, and Spain with the Netherlands and Russia on deck for later in the year.

 

Supplier Scoring Criteria

For those of you who may be new to the Quality Program, supplier scores are measured by the following criteria: QScore, Acceptance Score, and Consistency. Below are brief descriptions of our scoring methods. For a full explanation of the science behind supplier scoring, visit the Lucid Quality Program page.

  • QScore: Quality “grades” based on standard survey response measures (e.g. time spent on survey, attentiveness, open-end response quality).
  • Acceptance Score: Measures the acceptance rate of survey completes for individual suppliers. “Acceptance” refers to completes that meet buyers’ quality standards and, as a result, are accepted by those buyers.

Consistency: Measures the composition of respondent attitudes/opinions over time. Composition is measured by attitudinal responses to elements including brand affinity, value-seeking behavior, technology adoption, gaming, and movie and music usage.
